Workshop on Discussing the Draft National Healthcare Strategy for Substance Use Disorders

By the grace of God, the workshop dedicated to discussing the draft National Healthcare Strategy for Substance Use Disorders was successfully concluded. The workshop was held in Damascus from 23 to 25 June, in coordination between the Syrian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, with the participation of several representatives from relevant ministries and organizations.

The workshop was supervised by Professor Mohammad Abu Saleh and Dr. Mohammad Al-Jundi. It featured scientific and professional discussions aimed at reviewing and further developing the draft strategy, which had been previously prepared by Professor Abu Saleh and Dr. Al-Jundi, in a manner that contributes to strengthening healthcare services and improving the response to substance use disorders in line with best practices.

We pray for success in completing these efforts and translating their outcomes into practical steps that contribute to the development of the mental health sector in Syria.
