SAMH is an independent Syrian scientific association comprising specialists in psychiatry, psychology, and clinical social work. The association was established based on the recommendations of the Conference on the Psychological and Social Effects of the Syrian Revolution and Methods of Addressing Them, held in Istanbul on September 27–28, 2012.
SAMH strives to enhance comprehensive mental health and to become a leading scientific reference in providing supervisory services, training, consultations, studies, and research in mental health fields such as psychiatry, psychology, and clinical social work.
To promote mental health and provide psychological and social services in accordance with the highest professional standards, based on reliable, evidence-based scientific practice.
The Syrian Association for Mental Health (SAMH) welcomes the membership of professionals and individuals interested in the field of mental health, both inside and outside Syria. The association aims to support mental health work, promote the exchange of expertise, and enhance professional practices in this vital field.
